Passive Voice - Future Perfect Tense
There are several reasons as to why we use the passive voice in English. In these notes, we are going to focus on the Future Perfect in the passive voice. Generally, we use the passive voice when the focus is on the action and NOT on WHO or WHAT is performing the action.
They will have caught the thief. (Active Voice)
The thief will have been caught by them tomorrow. (Passive Voice)
She will have completed her course. (Active Voice)
Her course will have been completed by her next year. (Passive Voice)
He will have left the country. (Active Voice)
The country will have been left by him next week. (Passive Voice)
She will have decorated her house. (Active Voice)
Her house will have been decorated by her before we go there. (Passive Voice)
The judge will have issued the order. (Active Voice)
The order will have been issued by the judge before he leaves the country. (Passive Voice)
Positive : I will have been married next year.
Question : Will you have been married next year ?
Negative : I will not have been married next year.
Negative Question : Won’t you have been married next year ?
Positive : The majority of state owned institutions will have been privatised by next five years.
Question : Will the majority of state owned institutions have been privatised by next five years. ?
Negative : The majority of state owned institutions will have not been privatised by next five years.
Negative Question : Won’t the majority of state owned institutions have been privatised by next five years ?
